Urban Programmes

‘Urban Squash’ is the term used where programmes seek to link together education and squash as a stepping stone to a successful adult life. There can be many variations but the principle framework is bringing together teaching and squash play under one roof or in nearby facilities so that youngsters have a strong academic input as well as after-study squash – and all that comes with it such as friendships, bonding, mentoring and opportunities when further education becomes on the horizon.

The highly developed and very successful US model which has been rolled out into more than a dozen locations is linked to here, for information, but there are other models in other countries too, all targeting youth development and opportunity.
